Villa close to historical city center and Wartburg castle
We live in the historic town of Eisenach, famous for its connection to Martin Luther and the impressive Wartburg Castle. Our home is a charming yellow villa, built in 1927, in a quiet and green neighborhood. Our house is on a hill and can be reached via stairs only. Guests have their own cozy room and a private bathroom. The house was fully renovated in the early 2000s, and we updated much of the apartment in 2026, so everything is modern and well-maintained.
During the warmer months, we love spending time in our large garden. It’s the perfect place to relax, have a barbecue, or just enjoy the fresh air. For getting around Eisenach, we usually use our bikes and are happy to lend them to our guests so you can explore the city and its beautiful surroundings at your own pace.
Eisenach is a small but vibrant city with a rich history. The city center is just 1 km away and easily reached by bike or on foot. The area is a mix of lovingly restored historic buildings, charming villas, and some newer constructions. There are plenty of cafés, restaurants, and small shops nearby, as well as weekly markets where you can buy fresh local produce.
Eisenach is best known for the Wartburg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but there’s much more to discover: the Bach House, Luther House, and beautiful hiking trails through the Thuringian Forest. The city has a lively cultural scene with concerts, theaters, and festivals throughout the year. In recent years, more young families and creative people have moved here, giving the city a fresh and welcoming atmosphere.
If you want to explore beyond Eisenach, there are excellent train connections to cities like Erfurt, Weimar, Jena, and even Leipzig, Berlin or Frankfurt. The region is perfect for day trips, whether you’re interested in history, nature, or culture.
Eisenach may be smaller than some big cities, but it offers a wonderful quality of life, a friendly community, and a unique blend of history and nature. We love living here and look forward to sharing our home and city with you!
