Overview
Mennonite Your Way (“the platform,” “we,” “us”) is a Christian hospitality marketplace that connects travelers with hosts. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.
Community Standards
Mennonite Your Way is rooted in Christian values of hospitality, honesty, and mutual respect. All users — guests and hosts alike — are expected to conduct themselves accordingly. We reserve the right to suspend or remove accounts that violate these standards.
Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when registering.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- One person may not maintain multiple accounts.
- You may register using your email address and a password, or by signing in with your Google account.
- We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms or that engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful behavior.
Listings and Bookings
- Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listing information, including availability, pricing, and property descriptions.
- Instant bookings: Some listings confirm immediately. Your payment method is securely saved and your booking is confirmed right away; payment is processed according to the booking's payment schedule.
- Approval-required bookings: Some listings require the host to review and approve your request. Your payment method is securely saved but not charged while the host decides. The host has up to 7 days to respond. If the host does not respond within that window, the request expires automatically and your card is not charged.
- Hourly venue bookings: Certain venue listings may be booked by the hour. Hourly bookings follow the same instant or approval-required process as overnight stays.
- Guests agree to the listed price and any applicable service fees at the time of booking.
- Security deposits and damage claim limits:If a listing has a damage claim limit (sometimes shown as a security deposit), that amount is the most that could be charged for damage arising from your stay. It is not charged or held when you book — instead, your payment method is securely saved. If a host files a damage claim after checkout, you will be notified and may accept or dispute it. If a claim is disputed or otherwise requires review, you agree that Mennonite Your Way may review the information and evidence submitted by the parties and determine whether the claim is approved or denied and the approved amount, up to the disclosed limit and subject to applicable law, as set out in our Damage Claim Terms. Only an amount you accept, or that we approve after review, is charged to your saved card, and never more than the disclosed limit. The damage-claim process is not insurance and does not guarantee reimbursement to hosts; hosts remain responsible for their own property and liability insurance. See our Damage Claim Terms for details. Some older bookings may still follow our previous process, in which an authorization hold was placed before check-in and released or retained after the stay.
- Hosts may configure seasonal pricing rules that adjust nightly rates for specific date ranges. The price shown at checkout reflects any applicable seasonal rates.
Printed Directory
Some hosts are listed in the Mennonite Your Way printed directory and are not available for online booking. These listings display the host's contact information so that guests may reach out directly to arrange a stay. Printed directory listings are not subject to the online booking and payment terms above.
Payments and Fees
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Mennonite Your Way does not store payment card information.
- A guest service fee of 6% is added to the booking subtotal (nightly rate plus any cleaning fee and add-ons) at checkout. This fee is non-refundable except where required by law or in the event of a booking cancellation by the host.
- A host platform fee of 5% is deducted from the booking subtotal before host payout. Hosts receive their payout via Stripe Connect after checkout.
- Optional cleaning fees and add-ons may be listed by the host and are disclosed at checkout before payment.
Gift Cards and Discount Codes
- Gift cards may be purchased on the platform and redeemed at checkout toward the cost of an eligible booking. Gift cards are non-refundable and have no cash value. Unused balances remain on the gift card and may be applied to future bookings.
- Discount codes may be issued by Mennonite Your Way and applied at checkout, subject to any stated conditions and expiration dates.
Cancellations and Refunds
- Host cancellations: If a host cancels a confirmed booking, the guest will receive a full refund including any service fees.
- Guest cancellation requests:Each listing has a cancellation policy — for example Flexible, Moderate, or a custom policy set by the host — which is shown to you before you book and is saved with your booking. If you cancel, your refund is determined by the cancellation policy that applied to your booking, not at our sole discretion. The platform does not currently support self-service cancellation of online bookings; to request a cancellation, contact Mennonite Your Way at info@mennoniteyourway.com.
- Declined or expired requests: If a host declines your booking request or does not respond within 7 days, the request is closed automatically and no charge is made to your saved payment method.
- The guest service fee is generally non-refundable except in cases of host-initiated cancellation.
Reviews
- Guests may submit a review of a property after their stay is complete. Reviews are subject to moderation and must be honest and respectful.
- Hosts may submit a private review of a guest after a stay is complete. Guest reviews are not displayed publicly.
- Hosts may respond publicly to reviews of their property.
- We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our community standards.
Messaging and Automated Communications
- The platform provides a messaging system for guests and hosts to communicate about bookings.
- Hosts may configure automated messages to be sent to guests at key points during the booking lifecycle (booking confirmation, check-in reminder, checkout morning, and post-departure follow-up).
- Transactional emails and, where opted into, SMS notifications are sent for booking confirmations, requests, approvals, and reminders. You may manage your notification preferences from your account settings.
Host Responsibilities
- Hosts are responsible for ensuring their property complies with all applicable local laws and regulations, including short-term rental ordinances.
- Hosts must have the legal right to rent the property they list.
- Hosts are responsible for the safety, cleanliness, and accurate representation of their property.
- Hosts using the calendar synchronization feature are responsible for keeping their availability accurate. Mennonite Your Way is not liable for double-bookings arising from misconfigured external calendar feeds.
- Hosts offering approval-required bookings are expected to respond promptly. Repeated non-response may result in account review.
Guest Responsibilities
- Guests are responsible for treating the host's property with care and respect.
- Guests must comply with all house rules established by the host.
- Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the property beyond normal wear and tear.
- Guests may not use the property for purposes other than those agreed to at booking.
Limitation of Liability
Mennonite Your Way is a marketplace platform. We do not own, operate, or inspect listed properties and are not responsible for the actions of hosts or guests. The platform is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mennonite Your Way shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or a booking arranged through it.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
